Expert Lactation Services
HALCEA members on our referral list are all board-certified lactation consultants (IBCLC) who meet the highest educational and clinical standards in infant feeding. Whatever your needs are, a HALCEA IBCLC can help.
Learn to breastfeed and work on your breastfeeding/chestfeeding challenges in the comfort and privacy of your own home from an IBCLC, a board-certified lactation consultant with the highest level of training in breastfeeding assessment. Your IBCLC will work with you and your baby in your own space, providing an individually tailored experience. This is an especially helpful option for families dealing with breastfeeding challenges--the IBCLC will come to you.
A lactation office has everything you may need to reach your breastfeeding/chestfeeding goals. Often less expensive than a home visit, an office visit with an IBCLC is personalized, with specific recommendations from a breastfeeding expert.
For those families who find an in-person visit to a lactation consultant not feasible, there is now the option of a virtual consultation with an IBCLC. Most breastfeeding/chestfeeding problems can be addressed during a virtual consultation. These services are provided with HIPAA compliant video conferencing systems, and only require the new parent to have access to the Internet. Costs vary, but the virtual visit may represent savings over the cost of an in-person consultation
Taking a prenatal breastfeeding class is a great way to ensure that you get breastfeeding off to the best start. These classes are typically offered both in person and online. Some providers also offer postpartum classes for common concerns, such as returning to work or introducing solids.
